Shri Abhishek Dev, IAS

Shri Abhishek Dev, IAS, serves as the Chairman of the Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA), a statutory body under the Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Government of India. As a senior officer of the Indian Administrative Service, he brings extensive experience in public administration, trade facilitation, and policy implementation.

In his role as Chairman, Shri Dev is responsible for promoting the export of agricultural and processed food products from India, strengthening quality assurance frameworks, and enhancing India’s global agri-export competitiveness. He oversees strategic initiatives related to export infrastructure development, certification systems, traceability platforms, and capacity building for exporters. His leadership supports alignment with international food safety standards, phytosanitary regulations, and global sustainability requirements.

Shri Dev has played a key role in advancing digitalization within export promotion systems, enabling improved transparency, streamlined documentation, and enhanced market access for Indian exporters. He actively engages with state governments, export promotion councils, industry stakeholders, and international trade bodies to facilitate market expansion and diversify export destinations.

Under his stewardship, APEDA continues to focus on value addition, branding of Indian agricultural products, and strengthening farm-to-market linkages. Emphasis on traceability, quality compliance, and sustainability certification has further enhanced global trust in Indian produce.
