Ms. Reena Garg, DDG (Standardization-I), BIS

Ms. Reena Gargis the Deputy Director General (Standardization-I) at the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS), where she has spent over 30 years driving national and international quality frameworks. A senior scientist (Scientist G), she previously led the Electronics and Information Technology Department (LITD), overseeing 28 technical committees responsible for critical areas such as Information System Security, Biometrics, and Smart Cities. Internationally, she has represented India at various ISO, IEC, and JTC1 meetings and serves as the Secretary for the ISO/IEC JTC1/SC7 subcommittee on Software and Systems Engineering. She holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Electronics from Netaji Subhas Institute of Technology (NSIT) and an MBA, combining technical expertise with strategic leadership to align Indian industry requirements with global standards.
