Dr. Harinder Singh Oberoi, Director, NIFTEM

Dr. Harinder Singh Oberoi serves as Director of the National Institute of Food Technology Entrepreneurship and Management (NIFTEM), a premier institution dedicated to advancing food science, technology, and entrepreneurship in India. With an extensive academic and research background in food processing and value addition, he has contributed significantly to strengthening research, innovation, and industry–academia collaboration in the food sector.

As Director, Dr. Oberoi provides strategic leadership in academic development, research excellence, and institutional growth. He oversees multidisciplinary programs in food engineering, food safety, packaging, post-harvest technology, and agribusiness management. Under his guidance, the institute continues to enhance its research infrastructure, promote start-up incubation, and foster industry partnerships aimed at driving innovation in food processing and value chain optimization.

Dr. Oberoi’s research expertise includes food preservation technologies, processing optimization, functional food development, and waste valorization strategies. He has been actively involved in national and international research collaborations, contributing to peer-reviewed publications, technology transfers, and capacity-building initiatives.
