Dr. C.R. Mehta Director, ICAR – CIAE, Bhopal

Dr. C. R. Mehta is Director of the ICAR-Central Institute of Agricultural Engineering (ICAR-CIAE), Bhopal, a premier institute under the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR). As Director, he leads research, innovation, and technology development initiatives in agricultural engineering, farm mechanization, and post-harvest management.

With extensive experience in agricultural engineering research and technology dissemination, Dr. Mehta has contributed significantly to advancing mechanization solutions aimed at improving farm productivity, resource efficiency, and sustainability. His work focuses on developing appropriate technologies for small and marginal farmers, promoting energy-efficient farm machinery, and strengthening post-harvest systems to reduce losses and enhance value addition.

Under his leadership, ICAR-CIAE continues to drive interdisciplinary research, industry collaboration, and field-level technology transfer programs that support modern agriculture and rural development. He is actively involved in national committees and technical advisory roles, contributing to policy inputs and capacity building in agricultural mechanization and allied sectors.
