Prof. Anup K Ghosh

Emeritus Professor, IIP – Delhi Former Head of DMSE, IIT Delhi

Anup K. Ghosh is an Emeritus Professor at the Indian Institute of Packaging (IIP) and the Former Head of the Department of Materials Science and Engineering (DMSE) at IIT Delhi. A global leader in polymer processing and rheology, he has significantly advanced research in reactive processing of polymer blends, microcellular foaming, and sustainable materials through Life Cycle Analysis (LCA). His practical contributions include developing bullet-proof vests for the DRDO using shear thickening fluids and creating innovative polymeric orthotic knee joints, which earned him a National Award in 2015. A Fellow of the National Academy of Sciences, India (FNASc), Professor Ghosh has held the prestigious Reliance Chair Professor position and currently serves as the President of the Polymer Processing Society (PPS).
