Mr. J. K. Gupta is Scientist E and Head of the Textiles Division (TXD) at the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS). In his leadership role, he oversees the formulation, development, and implementation of Indian national standards in the textiles and related product sectors, ensuring alignment with quality, safety, and performance benchmarks.

With a strong technical background and experience in standards development, Mr. Gupta leads expert committees, coordinates inter-departmental engagements, and collaborates with industry stakeholders to strengthen India’s conformity assessment frameworks. His work supports the harmonization of national standards with international best practices, enhancing market access and consumer protection across regulated products.

As Head of TXD, he plays a key role in strategic policy input, technical evaluations, and international standards engagements, contributing to robust quality ecosystems and regulatory compliance mechanisms in India.
